The VIKINGS educational curriculum is a series of four online modules that enhance awareness and increase utilization of Veteran services. Funding for this curriculum is provided by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Vikings Curriculum is run by the Kentuckiana Veterans Integration Coalition. The Coalition works to ensure Veterans have access to the services and support they need to maintain healthy, active and independent lives by increasing community knowledge of resources, access to service and care coordination. Key partners of the Coalition include the Kentuckians Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) and the UofL Trager Institute.
What does VIKINGS stand for?
The name VIKINGS stands for Veterans Health Administration, UofL Trager Institute, KIPDA (Kentuckiana Regional Planning & Development Agency), Incorporating, New, Generations of Veterans, and Service.
As you progress through the VIKINGS Curriculum, we invite you to think about the disabilities, loss, and sacrifice of a Veteran who could be a family member, friend, or neighbor. You will feel empowered to develop knowledge and skills to give back to those who gave so much to our country. The modules consist of real case scenarios and photos of Veterans throughout our area.

To take this pre-test, you will need to either log-in as an existing user to the Institute’s webpage or as a new user.Click herefor detailed registration/log-in instructions.
If you currently receive email’s from the Institute, you already have a username. Create a new password here.
If you DO NOT receive emails from the Institute, you will need to sign in as a new user.
After you have your username & password, login to and complete the VIKINGS Pre-Test.
You only need to take the Pre-Test once.
3. Complete Modules 1-4, in chronological order
After you have completed the VIKINGS Pre-test, you will be given a link to the four modules in the confirmation email. You will need to complete all four modules in chronological order. If you have any questions on the modules, please contact (812) 631-1246.
4. Take Module Post-Tests
You will be prompted to take post-tests at the end of each module to assess knowledge.In order to complete the VIKINGS curriculum, you will need to complete these assessments within the modules (4 total) and take the Final Post-Test.
5. Take Post-Test to receive final certificate
After completing all four modules, you will need to take the Post-Test. You will receive the final VIKINGS Curriculum Certificate upon successful completion of the Post-Test.
