What is the Participant Registry?  

The Participant Registry is a database that is made up of people 55 and older who have volunteered to consider participation in research studies or innovative product testing. 

Why Should I Join? 

  • Learn ways to possibly improve your health or the health of your family
  • Gain access to the newest advances in medications, tests, programs, and innovations
  • Help others to similarly gain access to life-improving medical and technological advances
  • To advances the field of aging studies for future generations 

What Should I Expect as a Member of the Participant Registry?

Members of the Participant Registry will learn about and participate in new research studies and product testing opportunities that seek to improve the lives of older adults. As a member of the Participant Registry, you can expect:

  • To be asked to complete an annual health survey in order to match you to potential studies and product testing opportunities. 
  • To receive communication from the Institute for Sustainable Health & Optimal Aging notifying you of your eligibility to participate in upcoming studies and product testing opportunities 

How Do I Enroll? 

Please read all the instructions before joining. 
  1. Click on the "Join Now" button below to begin the registration process. 
  2. You will be asked to create a profile (a username and a password):
    • I currently DO NOT receive emails from the Institute:  
      • You will be directed to create a username and password.
    • I currently DO receive emails from the Institute:
      • If you receive emails from the Institute, you already have a username. Please either refer to a recent email to obtain your username or contact the Institute at [email protected] or (502) 588-4340. 
  1. You will then be directed to fill out a form that outlines your demographic, social, and health information.
  2. Click Submit when you are finished; this will complete your enrollment in the Participant Registry. 
  3. You will not be asked for any credit card or financial information.

How Do I Participate in Studies & Product Testing Opportunities? 

  • Members of the Participant Registry are invited to participate in surveys, studies, and product tests through a matching process.
  • If your profile is selected as a match for a particular study, you will be sent an email letting you know the next steps. All studies and product testing opportunities are voluntary. 
  • To ensure that you are able to participate in experiences that will benefit you the most, the Institute will send out an annual update form.

Is My Information Secure?

Yes, your information is secure. The entirety of the Participant Registry has Institutional Review Board approval and only those projects that meet certain rigorous standards are eligible to access your data. Your information will not be shared with any organizations or individuals other than those approved to access the Registry. You will not be asked to provide sensitive information such as financial data or social security numbers at any time. Research Safety: Any research study that you receive information about as a member of Participant Registry will be reviewed and approved by the rigorous standards of the University of Louisville's Institutional Review Board. This approval ensures that your rights and safety as a participant are protected.  Participation in any study is voluntary and if at any time you are uncomfortable, you have the right to withdraw from the study.
